PRINTS AND FRAMING
Every limited-edition print by David Emerson Thomas is produced in Australia with close attention to colour, detail, materials and presentation.
Collectors may choose between museum-grade fine art paper and professionally stretched fine art canvas. Optional framing is available by arrangement, allowing each artwork to be prepared to suit its intended setting.
FRAMING BEFORE ORDERING
Framing is only available by arrangement before placing your order. Please review the information below, then contact us to discuss the available framing options and obtain a personalised quotation.
Paper and canvas prints may still be purchased without additional framing.
FINE ART PRINTING
Limited-edition prints are produced using archival pigment inks and a fine art giclée printing process.
Each artwork has its own stated edition size. Unless otherwise specified, paper and canvas prints are drawn from the same shared edition rather than forming separate editions.
Every print retains the original painted signature reproduced within the artwork and is supplied with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity corresponding to the edition number.
PAPER PRINTS
Paper prints are produced in Australia on Canson Infinity Rag Photographique 310 gsm, a 100% cotton, museum-grade fine art paper.
It has an exceptionally smooth white surface, rich tonal depth and deep blacks. Its refined surface is particularly well suited to detailed fine art reproduction.
Paper prints include a white border surrounding the printed image. Each print is individually hand-signed and numbered by David Emerson Thomas on the border beneath the image.
Paper Framing
Paper prints may be professionally framed behind glass.
Frames are available in three colours: Natural Timber, White and Black. While the choice is entirely yours, we will be happy to advise which colour best complements the tones and character of your chosen artwork.
Paper prints are supplied unframed unless professional framing has been arranged before ordering.
CANVAS PRINTS
Canvas prints are produced in Australia on Epson Signature Worthy Premium Canvas Satin 350 gsm.
This heavyweight fine art canvas is made from a 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend. Its tight weave, soft artistic satin finish and excellent colour reproduction make it particularly suitable for detailed fine art printing.
Each canvas print retains the original painted signature within the reproduced artwork. Each physical canvas is also individually hand-signed and numbered by David Emerson Thomas on the reverse.
Canvas Presentation
Canvas prints supplied within Australia are professionally hand-stretched over a custom-made 3.5 cm-deep timber stretcher frame before dispatch.
The printed canvas includes a carefully extended image area designed to wrap around the sides of the stretcher frame while preserving the complete front-facing composition.
A stretched canvas may be displayed as supplied or finished with an external float frame. Canvas prints are not intended to be framed behind glass.
WHAT DOES "STRETCHED CANVAS" MEAN?
A canvas print begins as a flat printed sheet of canvas.
It is then professionally hand-stretched tightly over a custom-made timber stretcher frame and secured at the rear. This gives the canvas its finished shape and allows it to be displayed in the same manner as a painting.

DISPLAYING A CANVAS PRINT
A professionally stretched canvas may be displayed as supplied or finished with an external float frame.
Float frames are available in three colours: Natural Timber, White and Black. While the choice is entirely yours, we will be happy to advise which colour best complements the tones and character of your chosen artwork.
A float frame surrounds the stretched canvas while leaving a narrow visual gap between the artwork and the outer frame. The float frame has an overall outside depth of 4.5 cm and a slim 1 cm-wide front-facing border. This creates a refined, contemporary presentation without covering the wrapped edges of the canvas.
Canvas prints are not intended to be framed behind glass. Glass can obscure the natural surface and texture of the canvas and is not the intended presentation method for this format.
PAPER OR CANVAS?
Choose paper for a traditional fine art presentation, with the print professionally framed behind glass.
Choose canvas for a presentation that more closely resembles an original painting, with the artwork professionally stretched over a timber frame and optionally finished with an external float frame.
Both formats are produced to the same high standard and are drawn from the same stated edition unless otherwise specified.
ARTWORK CAPTURE AND COLOUR ACCURACY
Each original artwork is photographed in-house using a high-resolution camera, a controlled two-light studio setup and professional colour-calibration tools.
The lighting is high-CRI and colour-adjustable, allowing the artwork to be illuminated evenly while reducing unwanted shadows, glare and colour casts. A photographic colour reference is included during capture so that white balance, colour and tonal values can be checked and carefully corrected during image preparation.
Every image is then prepared for fine art reproduction so that colour, detail and tonal character remain as faithful as reasonably possible to the original painting.
Because screens, paper and canvas reproduce colour and surface character differently, slight variation may still occur between the original artwork, the image viewed online and the finished print.
INTERNATIONAL COLLECTORS
We welcome enquiries from collectors outside Australia.
International customers must contact us before purchasing so we can confirm the delivery address, presentation format, shipping cost, customs requirements and insurance.
An unstretched canvas may be available for international delivery by prior arrangement. This can reduce the size and cost of shipping, but the canvas will require professional stretching after delivery.
International orders cannot be completed through the standard checkout until delivery arrangements have been confirmed.
