Frequently Asked Questions

Purchasing

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We welcome enquiries from collectors worldwide.

As shipping costs, delivery times, customs requirements and insurance vary between countries, we kindly ask international customers to contact us before placing an order so we can provide a personalised shipping quotation.

An unstretched canvas may be available for international delivery by prior arrangement. This can reduce the size and cost of shipping, but the canvas will require professional stretching after delivery.

Can I reserve an artwork?

If you're interested in an artwork and need a little more time before purchasing, please get in touch.

Wherever possible, we'll do our best to accommodate your request. As artworks are often unique or produced in limited editions, reservations are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Shipping

How long will it take to receive my order?

Limited-edition paper and canvas prints supplied without additional framing are typically produced and dispatched within 10 business days.

Framed artworks require additional production time and are generally dispatched within 15 business days.

Original paintings are individually prepared for dispatch, so dispatch times may vary depending on the artwork and destination.

Returns

Can I return my artwork?

Please choose your artwork carefully, as we do not accept returns, exchanges or provide refunds for change of mind.

If your artwork arrives damaged or there is an issue with your order, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assist.

Original Paintings

Are your original paintings one-of-a-kind?

Yes. Every original painting is a unique, hand-painted artwork by David Emerson Thomas. Once sold, the original is no longer available for purchase.

Where applicable, a limited-edition print may be released from the original artwork.

Limited Edition Prints

How many prints are available?

Each artwork has a strictly limited edition size. The stated edition is shared across both paper and canvas formats.

Every print is individually signed, numbered and supplied with a matching Certificate of Authenticity.

How are the prints signed and numbered?

Paper prints retain the original painted signature reproduced within the artwork. Each paper print is also individually hand-signed and numbered by David Emerson Thomas on the white border beneath the image.

Canvas prints also retain the original painted signature within the reproduced artwork. Each canvas print is individually hand-signed and numbered by David Emerson Thomas on the reverse of the canvas.

Both paper and canvas prints are supplied with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity corresponding to the edition number.

Are paper and canvas separate editions?

No. The edition is shared across both materials.

For example, if Print 1/25 is produced on paper, the next available edition number may be allocated to either paper or canvas. The total number of prints produced will never exceed the published edition size.

What materials are the limited-edition prints produced on?

Paper prints are produced in Australia on Canson Infinity Rag Photographique 310 gsm, a 100% cotton, museum-grade fine art paper with an exceptionally smooth white surface, rich tonal depth and deep blacks.

Canvas prints are produced in Australia on Epson Signature Worthy Premium Canvas Satin 350 gsm, a heavyweight 65% polyester and 35% cotton fine art canvas with a tight weave, soft artistic satin finish and excellent colour reproduction.

Canvas prints supplied within Australia are professionally hand-stretched over a custom-made 3.5 cm-deep timber stretcher frame before dispatch. They may be displayed as supplied or finished with an external float frame by arrangement before ordering.

Can my print be professionally framed?

Professional framing is available by arrangement before placing your order.

Paper prints may be framed behind glass with a bevel-cut white window mount and a choice of frame styles and colours. Stretched canvas prints may be displayed as supplied or finished with an external float frame.

Please refer to our Prints and Framing page for available options and further information.

Care and Display

How should I care for my artwork?

To help preserve your artwork for many years, display it away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity and extreme temperature changes.

Dust frames and stretched canvases gently using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using household cleaning products directly on the artwork.
