Three cast members pose in front of a Leyland bus bearing David’s hand-painted The Restless Years billboard (See adjacent image in this gallery for a close-up of the artwork). This particular bus was a Leyland Titan PD2/PD3 double-decker, bodied locally in Australia. More specifically: Leyland Titan PD2 or early PD3, with Australian (Commonwealth Engineering / Comeng–style) bodywork, used widely in Victoria through the 1950s–1970s. The flat side panels and long uninterrupted surface were ideal for hand-painted advertising - which is exactly why these old Titans were kept around for promo work well into the 70s. The Restless Years aired between 1977–1982, on ATV-0 (Australian TV Station's Channel 0 - Now Network 10).

He was an Australian cultural icon, referred to universally as Australia's King of Country Music and one of the country's most awarded stars, with a career spanning nearly seven decades and producing numerous recordings. The film dramatises the early life and career of Australian country music singer/songwriter Slim Dusty, interspersed with footage of a 1980s round Australia tour by the Slim Dusty family and featuring several songs from Dusty's long career.

This inflatable globe was originally intended for large-scale decorative use in shopping centres, but David saw it as the perfect basis for his three-dimensional representation of Earth, saving him the time and effort of constructing one from styrofoam or another material.

The only warped and blurry Polaroid we have of David's New Faces Logo. Painted on-site at ATV-0 (Australian TV Station's Channel 0 - Now Network 10). David built and painted many sets and props for Australian TV shows including Neighbours, Young Talent Time, Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Let the Blood Run Free, Full Frontal, The Comedy Company, Jimeoin, Double Dare, and many more. New Faces was an Australian talent show that preceded the British show of the same name. Originally produced at GTV-9 Melbourne (Now Nine Network). The program ran from 1963–1976 and was hosted by Frank Wilson. It was later taken over by Bert Newton, who hosted it from 1976–1985 and again from 1992–1993 Contestants would compete in heats, with the winners competing in finals. Many of its contestants later became famous, including Paul Hogan, Olivia Newton-John, Daryl Somers, The Hawking Brothers, Col Elliott, Julia Morris and Keith Urban.

Styrofoam to be moulded in fibreglass and then coated in gold leaf. The Oscar was displayed at the entrance of Crown Casino's internal cinema complex. Made in 3 x pieces at David's home (45mins from central Melbourne), transported and completed at a theatrical props studio in Port Melbourne, and installed at Crown Casino, Melbourne (A few minutes up the road from the studio).
